Future Planning and Special Education Transition Webinar Dec. 7

Planning for a secure and fulfilling future is a crucial process for people with disabilities and their families. While creating a future plan may seem inaccessible or challenging for families, it is possible and necessary to create a person-centered plan that documents the wants, needs, and available resources for an individual with a disability. The post-secondary school transition process serves as a great example of a necessary student-centered future planning process. That’s why The Arc is offering a free webinar entitled The Intersection of Future Planning and Special Education Transition Planning on Wednesday, December 7 at 2:00 pm ET. Join this webinar to learn:

  • How special education transition planning fits into the broader idea of future planning
  • Approaches for effective transition planning for students with an individualized education program (IEP)
  • Considerations for families, educators, and support professionals as they collaborate with the student during the transition planning process

Register for this webinar here. Please submit any questions to futureplanning@thearc.org.
