The details: One entry per participant. All films submitted will be pre-screened by the CommUNITY Film Festival Committee. Films that meet all the requirements will be forwarded to a panel of judges who will watch the films and select the winners of each category.
Promoting Inclusion: The needs of all people should be considered in all aspects of society. Inclusion means providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized. Films in this category should highlight how and why one size does not fit all.
Challenging Assumptions: An assumption is a belief, viewpoint, attitude, or option that is accepted as true or as certain to happen even though there is no proof to support it. Films in this category should address an assumption and discover where it could be limiting you in your pursuits. If applicable, share how you’ve overcome those challenges or assumptions!
Celebrating Our Communities: Celebrating what makes our communities so special. Whether highlighting specific organizations or activities that support the common good or just the town overall, films in this category should share what gives our individuals a sense of belonging in their communities.
Celebrating Everyday Lives: Living a life that makes you happy and also one that allows you to be at your full potential. It's about being intentional with the way you choose to live life on your own terms. Films in this category should be about what brings you joy and allows you to be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be.
Inspiring Audiences: Inspiring is the ability to change minds and win hearts. Films in this category should motivate the audience to do or feel something with which they can improve themselves or the world around them.
All films watched by the judges will also be up for the People’s Choice Award, which is voted on in real time the day of the event.
