Super Saturday Dance and Bible Study on November 12

The next Super Saturday Dance and Bible Study is taking place tomorrow, November 12. Bible study is at 6:15 p.m. and followed by the dance at 7 p.m. This event is held the second Saturday of every month at Five Lakes Church, 4765 McCord Rd., Sylvania, and is just for special needs individuals and their caregivers. Caregivers must be present for the entire event. Registration is recommended here.

November SALUTE meeting on November 14

The November SALUTE meeting is open to the public and featuring guest speaker Susan Rowe, assistant to US Representative Marcy Kaptur. The meeting is on Monday, November 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Training Center in the LCBDD Larc Lane Building, 1155 Larc Lane (Door O), Toledo. SALUTE is a self-advocacy group for those served by the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Meetings are the second Monday each month in 2022 and can be attended in person and via Zoom.

Little Hands Sensory Group starts November 17

Presented by YWCA Child Care Resource and Referral, the Little Hands Sensory Group is designed for families with children 2-5 years of age with developmental delays. The group provides an opportunity for families to connect with each other and engage in fun activities related to sensory needs and play. This is a once-a-month program offered multiple times in multiple locations within the county to reach more families, starting at the Toledo Main Library on November 17 at 3:00 p.m. For additional information, contact Parent Outreach Specialist Charlene Brady at 419.255.5519 or cbrady@ywcanwo.org.

OSU vs. Michigan ‘Tailgate Tuesday’ on November 22

Bring your team spirit and join us on November 22 for “Tailgate Tuesday” with the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Employees, providers, individuals and their families are encouraged to dress up in support of either Ohio State or Michigan ahead of their Nov. 26 showdown. Don your favorite team gear, grab your signs, pompoms and megaphones and be prepared to chant, cheer and scream your battle cries! Participants are asked to assemble on the LCBDD Larc Lane campus at 12:30 pm and pick the side of the road that represents your team. The team with the most spirit wins! LCBDD closed to observe Thanksgiving holiday

The Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities will be closed Nov. 24-25 in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. On-call staff are available 24/7 on our Emergency/After Hours line at 419-380-5100.

LCBDD monthly meeting to be held November 28

The Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities will hold its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 28. The meeting is in person only and open to the public at the Board’s Larc Lane Training Center (use Entrance O) on its South Toledo campus.

Grant Workshop Wednesday on November 30

Tammy Eisenreich, Parent Partner for the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities, will be joined by Tom Weisenbach from The Megan Weisenbach Foundation for the November edition of Grant Workshop Wednesday$. The mission of the Megan Weisenbach Foundation is to provide financial assistance to families that have children with special needs to assist with quality of life.
