Friday Update:

1.     Working remotely moves into its third week

In adherence to the Stay-at-Home directive from Ohio Health Director Amy Acton, the staff of the Lucas County Board of DD continues working from home. But, you may still get in contact with Board staff by telephone or by email.  

2.    Director Thanks Field for Ongoing Dedication

Department of Developmental Disabilities Director Jeff Davis is offering his gratitude for everyone's dedication to teamwork.

"Relationships matter," Davis says. "Relationships between provider management and direct support, relationships between our counties and our providers, relationships between the state and our county partners: I'm seeing them play out ... in ways that I could only hope for.

"We're going to put emphasis on strengthening those relationships and keeping them solid in the midst of all this challenge."

3.   April is Autism Awareness Month

Autism Ribbon The theme this year of Autism Awareness Month is"Know More. Do More."   This is the time to work at creating more awareness about autism. 4.     Health and Wellness Alert - protecting against infections

6.   SALUTE reaching out

Cassandra New friends are being made. Members of the SALUTE self-advocacy group, such as Cassandra, are reaching out to other individuals who find themselves home bound by the coronavirus outbreak. A friendly call can really bring some brightness to a long day. If you know someone who would appreciate a call from a SALUTE member contact the group’s coordinator Mary Beth Olender
