Career Communities, hosted by Capabilities, is designed for people with disabilities and their direct support professionals who are ready to grow, connect, and move forward in their employment journey. Working provides income, but it also brings purpose, stability, and meaningful social connection. Career Communities helps tie those pieces together by creating a pathway to greater independence.
Participants gain practical tools for career development, advancement, and retention while expanding friendships and professional networks. The program aligns with the values of the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council and focuses on empowerment, inclusion, and sustainable community employment.
Mentors Tom and Sara bring lived experience and a deep understanding of the challenges individuals may face. Their guidance and encouragement help participants navigate obstacles and build success in both career and life.
