Parent Advocacy Training Series

This is a virtual based series for interested parents and professionals and will meet Tuesday mornings from 9-11 a.m.

  • Feb. 13: Overview of the Model & Kickoff; Respect & Communication

  • Feb. 20: Equity, Trust & Decision Making

  • Feb. 27: Advocacy & Communicating with the Community, Commitment, Competence & Parenting

  • Mar. 5: Trauma Informed Care & Mental Health

  • March 19: Debrief Training & Wrap-Up

The program is designed for parents and professionals to learn alongside one another and focus on skills that strengthen parents’ ability to advocate for their children in a variety of settings. Participants will enhance their leaderships skills and be ready to take on new higher-level roles in the community. Parents and professionals will select their own partners for participation. This series follows a train-the-trainer model and each team will be asked to commit to training 5 other parent/professional teams upon completion of the Parent Advocacy Training series.

Registration is free and parent and caregiver participants will receive a $100 gift card upon completion.
