Dana Inc. Presents $56,000 Donation to Lucas County Special Olympics

Trying to fit the check in the carOn June 1, Dana Incorporated executives presented a $56,552 check to Lucas County Special Olympics.

The donation is from the proceeds of the 2021 AJGA Dana Incorporated Junior Open, which was held last year at the Sylvania Country Club. The event was also honored by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) with the 2021 Charitable Giving Award, which is given to the tournament that raises the most money for charity.

As a nonprofit agency, Lucas County Special Olympics relies on donations and fundraisers to provide individual and team sports at no cost to the athletes. All donations directly benefit the athletes by paying for things like registration fees, uniforms, equipment, travel and lodging.

The story was also covered by Toledo media outlets, including WNWO (NBC24).
