As part of the MUI Rule 5123-17-02 under “requirements of unusual incidents”; each agency provider is required to investigate unusual incidents. This includes identifying the cause and contributing factors when applicable and developing preventative measures to protect the health and welfare of any at-risk individual.
The MUI unit has developed a UI Investigation training to assist managerial staff with understanding the process involved with conducting an investigation. The objective is to present a step by step training that will assist providers in developing their own written policy and procedure for conducting unusual incident investigations.
Content presented will include the anatomy of an incident report, writing an incident report and conducting a UI investigation. To get the most out of this training, participants will be expected to engage with trainers and the materials.
