Sunshine Communities welcomes the public to a night of fun at Sunshine’s Barn and Greenhouse on May 11, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at Sunshine’s main campus (7223 Maumee Western Road, Maumee, OH 43537). We're giving the public an inside look at our Sunshine Acres spaces and programs – our Barn and Greenhouse. The Barn hosts rabbits, miniature horses, a donkey, llama, goats, pig, and cats - all cared for by individuals at Sunshine. Our Greenhouse is home to anyone who loves to work with plants. Each year the group grows seasonal plants, flowers, and produce for sales that benefit Sunshine. Come enjoy an evening of learning and fun. This is a free event for the whole family.
You can expect to enjoy these activities:
At the Barn
- Meet, feed, and interact with the animals
- Learn about animal care
- Write chalk messages to the animals
-Take a photo with the animals
At the Greenhouse
- Plant Sale open (cash or check)
- Learn about the farm equipment
- Tour the greenhouse and hoop house
- Learn about plants in different stages
