At its monthly meeting on Dec. 19, 2022, the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities recognized the following staff member, individual served, and community organization.
- Staff Person of the Month: Carlis Coleman, Children's Department Clerk
The Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities is pleased to recognize Carlis Coleman, Clerk in the Children’s Department, as the December 2022 Staff Person of the Month.
In her short time at the Board, Carlis has learned a complicated EI system quickly, and has adapted to changes and modifications always with grace and a smile.
She manages the logistics of massive Amazon orders for the department, working closely with colleagues, delivery drivers, and even the parents of individuals we serve. She helps schedule many evaluations and assessments, keeping everyone together and headed in the right direction. She’s initiated a monthly meeting with the Family Support Specialist and the Buyer to ensure that everyone is on the same page with orders. She also works with Help Me Grow Service Coordinators to schedule assessments for infants up to Age 3.
Carlis treats everyone with kindness and respect, even when situations get tense. She covers for other workers when they are absent and always does what she can to be helpful. She embodies the mission of the Board in the way she interacts with the families we serve. Whether over the phone or in person, she gives everyone the same amount of courtesy, consideration, and respect.
Thank you, Carlis, for all you do! On behalf of the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities, we congratulate you on this well-deserved December 2022 Staff Person of the Month award!
